The future of my blogs and notes 🪬
It's spring, the energy has changed, and something new has begun.
Hello, friend.
It’s been cold + snowy up here in Sweden over the last week, but I still feel the energy of spring all around. And because of that, I’ve been thinking a lot about new beginnings, rebirth, and my previous note to you:
With the anniversary of my blog approaching, last week I found myself wondering about the path that lies ahead for me as a blogger.
I celebrated 12 years of blogging yesterday (April 1), which blows my mind and feels so satisfying and amazing. But, yesterday’s blog post was the first once since my last one in December 2022. In 12 years, I have never gone so long between posts. And that left me wondering, and a little bit worried.
Naturally, with my blog birthday and lack of interest in posting on my blog over the past 3.5 months, plus my pull to write notes to you here on Substack, I have seriously considered officially closing my belovelive.com chapter.
I did a quick little poll over on Instagram a week ago to see how other people felt/thought about me writing only on Substack, and the results were surprising. Seventy-five percent want me to keep my blog and write on Substack. Ultimately, I would love that. But, I want to make sure I have enough content. Plus, I don’t want to stretch myself too thin.
However, a week ago I played around with the design of my blog and I felt a spark of inspiration. And, then, yesterday I wrote my 12th birthday post and I found myself typing these words:
But, then, I thought twice about saying goodbye to belovelive. I just can’t do it. So, for the near future at least, this space will remain. And, to celebrate my blog birthday + to create a new mood here, I have decided on a new design for the space that feels really stripped down and basic. No frills. No extra shit. Just simple photos + posts.
How I will use it remains to be seen, however.
So, I’ll be curating + creating on my blog and writing these notes on Substack for the foreseeable future. And it feels so right.
I have been doodling, writing, categorizing, meditating, listing, and organizing my thoughts in my journal all day today. And I think I have come up with an idea.
Obviously, both spaces are where I write and share my ideas, thoughts, tips, and inspiration, and experiences on living a slow life in rhythms with nature. And that will not change. That is my message, my focus, my purpose. Slow, spiritual, seasonal living in my niche.
The big question now is: What content do I share and where? What will the differences be between these two spaces? Because I do not want to bore anyone. And I do not want to stress myself out. I have to find a rhythmic, cyclical, balance that unfolds in my daily life as I move through the year.
So here’s what I’m thinking:
Wild Soul Collective on Substack: A community space. A digital space for monthly and/or seasonal gatherings through notes, comments, and chats. The purpose is to move through the seasons together. Of course, our gatherings, our circles, will be digital. Through the notes I send to you. I’ll share info, inspiration, the energy and the theme of each season as it passes. Not so far from what I write and send to you already. But, I’d like to bump up the community aspect a bit. I feel pulled to create a circle, a community. And, at this time in life, in this world, we need each other.
Informative, inspirational, and community-focused.
belovelive.com : A curated space. A place to share how I live in rhythm with the seasons. You can expect posts on slow spirituality (moon phases, yoga, meditation, contemplation, books), seasonal living at home (decorating, food + drink, simple living), and soulful travel (adventures, explorations, culture). It’ll be a place where I document my life as I move through the year. Sharing my ideas, experiences, stories, photos, and daily rhythms. Actually, not so different from how I have blogged in the past. But, not quite as digital journal-y as in the past.
Curated, creative, and real life-focused.
Make sense? The differences?
But, before I end this note, I have a question for you, dear friend. I’d like to know how many of these little notes you’d like to receive throughout the year. So, please take a second and share your opinion in the poll below. If you have another idea, just leave a comment. I am so looking forward to hearing what you think/want.
Now you’re all updated on the future of my digital spaces. If you haven’t ever visited my blog, or if it’s been a while, go take a peek. I’ve redesigned it - and it is stripped down, fresh, simple, and basic. No frills. No bullshit. Just words + photos + space. I hope you like it. I am really diggin’ it right now. And I’m super excited to get back to blogging.
Well, dear one, it’s Sunday evening now and time to make some dinner before settling into the sofa and watching a new episode of Yellowjackets (the series is freaking crazy and disturbing - and we’re totally hooked).
Wishing you a peaceful, calm night as you prepare to move into a new week. Love to you.
xoxo. liz.
p.s. don’t forget the poll! 😘
